How the 14 dimensions are scored

The Traitium assessment turns 50 answers into 14 scores. This page gives the high-level picture: what happens in between, what the scores are, and what the parts of your results — the Trait Map, your profile title — actually represent.

From 50 answers to 14 scores

You respond to 50 statements, each on a seven-point scale, choosing the position closest to your own. There is no free text to interpret, and nothing is random: the same answers always produce exactly the same scores.

Each answer carries a fixed weight toward one or more dimensions, and each dimension's score is computed from your answers alone. Scoring is language-independent, too: the test exists in English, Traditional Chinese and Japanese, and the language you take it in never changes a single score.

A position, not a category

Every dimension is a continuous score from 0 to 100. The number is a position: it says how far your answers lean toward one end of the dimension or the other, and every point in between is possible. Nobody is rounded into a box.

Neither end of a dimension is good or bad; they describe different tendencies. And a score near the middle is not a failure to place you — it usually means both sides come naturally to you.

What your results show

Everything in your profile is a view of the same 14 scores. The Trait Map draws them as one landscape: every dimension has its place on the map, and your score sets the height. The words of your profile title are chosen by fixed rules from the same scores, naming the overall shape of your profile.

None of this is a type system. Traitium assigns no type, and two people can sit close together on one dimension and far apart on others — which is exactly what the map makes visible.

The Trait Map

An illustrative example, not a real person's result: a fictional profile drawn from 14 sample scores. Nothing on this page is computed from your answers.

The 14 dimensions

Each dimension has its own page: what it measures, what both ends of its scale look like in everyday life, and how it can combine with the others.

Not a clinical instrument

Traitium is a self-discovery tool for personal reflection. Its scores are not a medical, psychiatric or diagnostic assessment, and they measure no ability, no health and no worth.
